You step out of the shower feeling all clean and exfoliated, this is when you don’t want to forget to moisturize! While your skin is still damp is the best time to apply a body butter to lock in that moisture! This is the time when your pores are open and ready to be fed.
Now comes the tough question, which body butter is right for your skin type? There are a few things to take into consideration when choosing a body butter.
First, be aware of your climate and your skin type. The humidity levels where you live will vary which butter is best. If you live in a high humidity climate, than a lighter base will be better. Live in a dry, harsh climate? Go for a heavier base to help really seal in that needed moisture.
You may want to choose a lighter base butter in the summer time or if you are out and about in the sun all day. It will help keep you moisturized, but won’t feel so heavy. However, if you will be sitting at work in an air conditioned office all day, you may want to protect your skin with something a little stronger.
I am sure you have tried other body butters in the past. Don’t be deceived by other brands! Perfectly Posh body butters contain no empty filler ingredients, it will take a lot less than you think to cover your body in this all naturally based goodness.
So you heard me talk about butter bases and you may be asking yourself, what in the world is she talking about? Bases of what? Well girl, it is ALL about that base! <–you sang that didn’t you? HA! How about: It’s all about that base, bout that base…no fillers. Yea, you’re welcome. 🙂
Well, on to the bases! In order to choose a body butter that is right for you and your conditions, we offer different bases that provide a different nourishing experience. Good body butters start with the best bases.
This is the thickest of the body butters. It provides a protective coating on your skin that can soothe your dry irritated skin while sealing cracks and adding nutrients. This one is good for those harsh climates and to slather on your legs to prevent you from looking like an alligator! Putting this on your feet before bed will keep those tootsies nice and soft.
This is a heavy feeling base which is high in antioxidants. Antioxidants can help prevent free radicals from damaging skin and help it look more elastic, youthful, and fresh. These bases are super hydrating and absorb in the skin keeping you from getting all dry and ashy.
This is the most luxurious of the bases. Mango has a velvety quality about it when applied to your skin. It it known to help soothe irritations and surface skin conditions. It glides easily over skin making it feel soft and supple. This would be your lighter base for those humid climates and is great for those kiddos after their bath as well!
